WHO'S NEXT 50th ANNIVERSARY EDITIONS

 

  The 10-CD box represents the primary anniversary edition. It features the original album's songs that were remastered in 2022, a selection of Pete's demos, songs from the recordings sessions between 1970 and 1972, and live recordings from the 1971 concerts in London and San Francisco. Some of this material is assorted as special excerpts and released on a several editions, some of them as limited pressings. The following overview lists which of the songs are included in the particular editions.
A Blu-ray Audio disc with newly-created Atmos and 5.1 surround mixes of the album is included as a bonus disc in the 10-CD box. The box set also contains a 100-page hardback book with an introduction by Pete, a newly commissioned 172-page hardback book titled Life House - The Graphic Novel that tells the story behind the project, a 20" x 30" poster of a Who gig in Sunderland on 7th May 1971, a 25.5" x 34.25" poster of a date at the Denver Coliseum on 10th December 1971, a 20-page concert programme from the Rainbow Theatre in London on 4th November 1971, a 16-page programme from the band's autumn 1971 tour of the UK, a collectible four pin button set, and an 8" x 10" colour photo of The Who with printed autographs.

Who's Next Half Speed Mastered Edition
  At the same time a Half Speed Mastered edition of the album with its 9 original songs is released. The half speed mastering is not comparable to the 2022 remastering used for the above mentioned editions. The high quality mastering was done by Jon Astley at Close To The Edge Studios and cut at Abbey Road Studios.
