WHO ARE YOU SUPER DELUXE EDITIONS

 

  The 7-CD box features the original album's songs in a newly remastered mix by Jon Astley, the album's first mix by Glyn Johns, which was rejected by the band, plus new mixes created by Steven Wilson, early run-throughs, sessions and out-takes plus several demos by John Entwistle, previously unreleased tracks from the 1977 Shepperton studio rehearsals, six tracks from the live concert at Shepperton for the filming of The Kids Are Alright documentary, rehearsals with new drummer Kenney Jones for the Who's 1979 US tour, and live recordings from the 1979 US tour, including tracks recorded at the Pontiac Silverdome, the Spectrum in Philadelphia, and the Masonic Temple in Detroit. Some of this material is assorted as special excerpts and released on 4-LP vinyl and 2-CD editions. The following overview lists which of the songs are included in the particular editions.
A Blu-ray audio disc is included as a bonus disc in the 7-CD box. It features the album's songs in Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, and PCM Stereo mixes created by Steven Wilson. The box set also contains a 100-page hardback book with extensive sleeve notes by Matt Kent covering the period before and after the album's release, plus track-by-track details, and session notes, as well as sleeve notes by Steven Wilson on his remixes for Dolby Atmos. The book is lavishly illustrated with previously unpublished photographs, memorabilia, tape boxes and original print ads. The 4-LP set comes with a 28-page soft cover book whereas a 16-page booklet was included in the 2-CD 8-panel digipak. All LP editions are pressed on 180g vinyl.
